Thymara dragon keeper11/21/2023 The dragons and their keepers have now fully relocated to the city of Kelsingra. Sintara flies back across the river to challenge the drakes still stuck there and insults them, which causes fights among the males for her attention, minor injuries, and a rebuke from Melcor. The dragons are starting to feel the stirring of their desire to mate. She makes the flight to Kelsingra, learns Thymara is fine, and with her dragon memories wakens the magic of the city to everyone's wonder. Deciding she needs to feed before fighting Heeby, she comes upon a group of deer, eats to her satisfaction, and sleeps deeply, finally feeling like a real dragon. When she mistakenly thinks Heeby has caused the death of Thymara, the anger gives her the final push and her body remembers how to fly. She practices in secret on a cliffside hill. Sintara, already upset "dimwitted" Heeby can fly, is determined to not allow any other dragons fly before her. Most of the dragons are still stuck across a large treacherous river from Kelsingra, and the only way to get there is to fly. She was shocked that not only was Thymara ungrateful for the amazing gift, but was actually angry at her for not consulting with Thymara first. She starts guiding the changes to create for Thymara a pair of wings. Sintara is embarrassed to learn not only that she forgot that Elderlings were created by dragons from humans, but that she was unaware Thymara's changes had already begun. Supremely jealous, she keeps constant rivalry with the other queens. She believes herself to be the most beautiful of the surviving dragon queens (besides Tintaglia - but not for long) despite initially despising both herself and the other dragons for their infirmities. Selfish and protective of what is hers, during a flash flood she risks herself to save her dragon keepers. Sintara then begins to refer to Alise as her second keeper, taking pleasure that no other dragon has two keepers. Instead, she hypocritically accepts platitudes and adulation from Alise, who falls under her glamour willingly, hoping Sintara will open up and speak with her about her experiences and memories. This causes Thymara to wonder why Sintara doesn't like her, which in turn caused Sintara to feel even more disdain for a human that needs to be reassured constantly. After a time Mercor grows impatient with Sintara's foolishness, and reveals her true name to all, which greatly perturbs her.Īs Thymara performs her tasks with competence, Sintara sees no reason to thank her as she is only giving a dragon her due. Refusing to reveal her true name, she allows Thymara to refer to her as Skymaw. However, having no other choice available, she haughtily announces that Thymara may perform the needed grooming services to her. Sintara is frustrated at her inability to use her glamour to mesmerize Thymara and thinks her keeper is a bit stupid. When Mercor comes up with a plan to manipulate the humans into assigning them keepers who will assist them to move from Cassarick to Kelsingra, she finds herself paired with Thymara.
